Dork Approved Job sites

February 22, 2012

Whether your looking for a full time gig or a quick contractual position, Craigslist is a great place to find work. You do have to be a little careful when searching, as there can be quit a few low ballers on there trying to find cheap quick work. After using it a few times you’ll get better at determining what’s legit and what’s a time waster.

The great thing about this site is that it’s tech specific, meaning that you won’t find a job at McDonald’s or a cashier position at the Gap here.  The navigation and layout of the site is very well done, plus everything seems, for the most part, easy to locate. It doesn’t feel as overwhelming or intimidating as most job search sites typically are.

Here is another well-designed job search site similar to dice. This place tends to send out newsletters periodically with brand new job posts in specific fields based on what you’re looking for.

This place works a little different. Located in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, and a few other major cities. They have a great reputation in finding people great jobs as long as the person has the skills. Creative Circle will email you different work available whether full time or project base, then all you have to do is respond to the emails that you’re interested. Then  they’ll do the rest to get you an interview then it’s all up to you.

Of course this site has to be one of the biggest job search sites in the world. It’s not really a big secret, but this place is too big for you to not give it a try if you’re looking for work. It does get a little intimidating, as far as searching for things, even though they did recently improve they’re layout with a new user interface.
